High-Speed Line Follower Robot

Vacuum System (50,000 RPM):

At this rotational speed, the vacuum system generates a significant negative pressure beneath the robot, creating strong downforce. On a lightweight chassis of approximately 150 grams, the friction force produced by the vacuum system completely prevents wheel slip (spin), ensuring maximum traction and stability during high-speed operation.

Wheel Speed (7,500 RPM):
Assuming a wheel diameter of approximately 20–25 mm, this rotational speed indicates that the robot can theoretically reach extremely high speeds in the range of 8–10 m/s. In real-world applications, even higher speeds have been observed under optimized conditions.

Sensor Configuration:
The 8-sensor semicircular array is ideal for anticipating sharp curves and 90-degree turns. The semicircular layout allows the robot to detect the line over a wider angle, even when it deviates from the center, resulting in faster line recovery and improved cornering performance.

Weight Distribution:
As seen in the design, the center of mass—primarily consisting of the drive motors and vacuum fan—is positioned very close to the wheel axis. This configuration reduces the moment of inertia during turns, enabling quicker directional changes and superior agility.
